The members of the CCRC are a very diverse group of people dedicated to the improvement and growth of the RC Flying community. If you are looking for help to learn to safely fly an RC Model aircraft you couldn't pick a better place. Safety is a major concern with our hobby, while our aircraft are
labeled as "toys" they can injure, maim and even kill. It is in the
best interest of the hobby to teach you to safely operate, maintain,
tune and repair your model.
Airplanes
We have many instructors who are more than willing and capable of teaching you fly your new airplane, both proficiently and safely. Our instructors and members will be happy to assist you in any way they can.
To set up an appointment with an instructor please use the information located on the Flight Instructors page.
Helicopters
The RC Helicopter community at CCRC is probably one of the largest in the state. On a pretty day we will sometimes see up to 15 to 20 heli pilots. While we don't have any instructors to teach you to fly your new RC Helicopter, we will help you ensure your setup is correct, ensure that your helicopter will safely fly, configure your radio, test hover your heli (if you wish), teach you RC Helicopter safety, how to maintain your heli and encourage you to improve your helicopter flying skills. While some people are apprehensive of flying with such a large audience, we all started out learning to hover.
We don't have any helicopter instructors, but just come on out, bring your heli and AMA card and ask one of the heli pilots to help you. Everyone there is more than willing to help you in any way they can, you just have to ask.
